Hi, is anyone out there towing with either one of the above cars and could comment on how well they tow. I'm looking to buy a Lunar Clubman SB 1500kg and a Volvo v70 (2014 model) and wondered if the D4 would be good enough or should I go for the D5. I think kerbweights are about the same but D5 has more power.

The XC70 Cross Country offers ruggedness and the sure-footed benefits of all-wheel drive without the poor ride and sluggish handling of an SUV. The base V70 2.4 offers a smooth, soft ride, but the engine lacks the sporty response of the turbocharged models.
If you frequently work with EU cars like Volvo, BMW, Saab, Mercedes, etc, then this is a MUST-HAVE scanner. It had absolutely no issues reading and clearing the SRS codes on our V70 and S60. 1998 V70 will have a similar engine management, 1999-2000 is much different. The diesel engineers overbuilt the first whiteblock found in the 850. There's no better engine than the 2.3L 5 cyl found in the 850, and imo it's worth getting the turbo but I *think* the non turbo is as good but without potential turbo problems.
Not a very good first car. However a v70/s60 with T5 would be a great one. The facelifted 2004+ ones are the best in my opinion. You can get them with spaceball too and they are much more reliable and cheaoer to maintain. My Volvo V70 is Unfixable WheelemVerb. 16K views 4 weeks ago. The engine on this car is a workhorse, still has fabulous acceleration when you need it, and handles pretty well for theWith 208 turbocharged ponies and 236 ft.-lbs. of twist on tap, the XC70 isn't slow. Nor fast. Volvo's corporate 5-cylinder mill's rabid tip-in will no doubt make XC70 owners feel quick. But after half throttle is engaged, even Scottie can't get any more power (Captain). The five-speed automatic gearbox shifts smoothly enough, but when it comes

The 3.2 is not known for being very frugal, mainly as it is hauling a heavy vehicle around, but has to rev it's nuts off to get to the power band. Driving one is the only way to see if I can live with that motor in an XC90. Neil. 2000 V70 R - still being an endless PITA. 2006 XC70. 2003 Toyota 4Runner V8 Limited.
